Technology is reshaping business across industries and sectors, from manufacturing to food production, from logistics to energy. It is enabling new business models and allowing for a massive boost in resource utilization and efficiency.

Despite the positive effects that can be anticipated, businesses, job markets and societies will struggle to adapt. A key issue for nations and cities will be to identify and use the right levers in order to maximize the positive effects of technology transformation and unleash future growth.

  • What can be done to minimize the downside of technology transformation and maximize the upside?
  • Can countries, regions and cities play active roles in reshaping industries and generating growth in manufacturing sectors? How?
  • Which industries are emerging? How can we embed sustainability into them?
  • How is innovation changing? What is needed in business, policy and education to adapt to that?
